Revisit 1983, just with some assorted edits added over the years, as Return Of The Jedi blasts back onto UK cinema screens this coming weekend.

It’s turning into a bit of a year for movie anniversaries, and next to help itself to a slice of birthday cake is the third – or sixth, depending how you count ‘em – Star Wars feature, Return Of The Jedi. The film was originally released all the way back in 1983, and that means 2023 makes the 40th birthday for the Ewok-infested movie.

To celebrate this, the film is getting a wide cinema re-release across UK cinemas this very weekend. Don’t get too excited: you’re not getting the original cut, instead presumably the latest tampered with version. But still: it’s a film that feels at home on the big screen, and here’s your chance to go and catch it.

It’s clearly popping up across lots of screens too, and so you’re not going to struggle to find it if you’re looking for it. The reissue date is April 28th 2023.

Next up: surely the long-awaited big screen re-issue of Caravan Of Courage. It’s long, long overdue…
