Robert Pattinson is in talks to join Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s next film. More on Die, My Love below.
Last month, we learned that Lynne Ramsay’s new film Die, My Love would shoot this summer in Canada. Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the lead as a woman “driven to the brink of insanity by marriage and motherhood”.
Deadline now reports that Robert Pattinson is in talks to join Lawrence in Ramsay’s film. There’s no word on who Pattinson might play, but the outlet also reports that the narrative is set in a “remote forgotten rural area” and is specifically about “a mother who struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis.”
Pattinson is in high demand these days. His career has skyrocketed after playing one of the leads in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and Matt Reeves’ The Batman. We’re yet to see anything but a lone still from his collaboration with Bong Joon-Ho in Warner Bros’ Mickey 17, which was recently delayed. There were rumours that there was a dispute over the film’s final cut, which the Korean filmmaker has since denied.
Die, My Love will be Ramsay’s fifth feature film. Her last feature, the superb You Were Never Really Here, premiered all the way back in 2017. The hiatus wasn’t all planned; Ramsay has tried to get several projects off the ground in recent years, but none of them have worked out.
Ramsay has co-written the script for Die, My Love together with Enda Walsh. Lawrence is also on board as a producer through her Excellent Cadaver brand. Martin Scorsese is also listed as a producer on the project.
