A sequel to the breakout hit RRR is confirmed to be on the way ā and the original remains one of the treats of the year too.
Now this is exciting news. Comfortably one of the most enjoyable films of the year has been the incredible RRR, a movie made in India and an expensive and long one at that. Over three hours, you get a whole lot of action, you get some gigantic musical numbers, and some incredible stuntwork. It sits on Netflix, and it’s a flat-out treat.
It’s the work of writer V Vijayendra Prasad and director S S Rajamouli, and the latter is on the awards circuit at the moment for the film, which hopefully will bag some nominations.
Now we learn too – and this is mightily good news – that the pair are working away on RRR 2. It’s only in the early stages of development, but the father and son team have a story idea. And as you can see from this clip from a screening in Chicago over the weekend, that means RRR 2 is very much an active project…
