Ryan Reynolds and Sir Kenneth Branagh will star in Mayday, and here are early details of the new action thriller.
Any time Sir Kenneth Branagh’s name comes up in a news story, I like to mention Peter’s Friends, which was his 1992 third feature as director, and is a terrific comedy that is well worth seeking out.
Branagh has landed a new role too: he will co-star alongside Ryan Reynolds in Mayday. The tagline and synopsis are being kept under wraps, but it is described as an “action-adventure tentpole”. Branagh is pictured here in the popular 1999 movie Wild Wild West, which is available on DVD and Blu-ray now. A treat.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writer/directors responsible for the wonderful Game Night, will write and direct the film for Apple and Skydance, the script was finished prior to the Writer’s Strike.
There is no confirmed start date for production, though it is expected to be the next thing Reynolds will shoot after finishing production on Deadpool 3.
