There’s no stopping the Scream franchise now, with Scream 6 filming this summer ahead of a March 2023 release: more here.

This year’s reboot of the Scream franchise had the desired effect as pfar as Paramount and Spyglass Media were concerned. The first to be made without the late Wes Craven, this time the director’s chairs were filled by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. They’d previously made the wonderful Ready Or Not, and their Scream movie proved pretty popular with fans of the franchise.

Box office wasn’t bad either, with the movie grossing just shy of $140m worldwide. And both Paramount and Spyglass were quick to order a sequel. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett quickly signed up to make it.

As did the writers of the last Scream movie, James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, and the previously-announced plan was to shoot it this summer. That plan is pressing ahead, and it’s to the point where Paramount is confident enough to announce a release date. Scream 6 – and it won’t be called that, but lord know what name it will come with – will be released on March 31st 2023.

More on the movie as we hear it. It’s still a little up in the air just which members of the cast will be retuning, but things will sort themselves out there over the next couple of months.
