Rebel Moon is coming to Netflix soon, and as promised, Zack Snyder already has a sequel to the film moving forwards.
We don’t have a release date for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon yet, but that hasn’t stopped him going full steam ahead on a sequel. The first film has reportedly already received over $16m in tax credits too, which should comfortably cover the catering bill..
The official synopsis for Rebel Moon reads as follows:
A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.
Ed Skrein stars, alongside Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Sofia Boutella, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang, Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Alfonso Herrera. Anthony Hopkins also appears as Jimmy, who is described as “an impossibly sentient JC1435 mechanized battle robot and one-time defender of the slain King”.
Snyder directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. It is expected to be released via Netflix later this year.
