Disney is bringing out the big guns on November 12th, in its latest attempt to drive interest in its Disney+ streaming platform.
Disney has announced what it’s calling Disney+ Day, which is shorthand for it dropping a bunch of high profile stuff on its streaming service all in one go.
For film fans, there are three main attractions. There’s the latest Marvel adventure
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. Then
Jungle Cruise, starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, will jump from Disney+ Premier Access (where it currently resides) to Disney+ Regular Where They Don’t Want An Extra £20 Off You.
The same day also sees the premiere of the new
Home Alone film, going by the name
Home Sweet Home Alone.
Alongside those movies, there’s a new
Simpsons short film, as well as fresh Marvel and Star Wars special looks. And all of this lands – with potentially more – on November 12
th of this very year.
All of this comes at a point where the subscriber take-up for the Disney+ service is starting to slow after it got off to a rocket of a start. Disney will be hoping this keeps things bubbling along.
Entirely by coincidence, Netflix’s biggest blockbuster of the year –
Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds – arrives on November 12th as well. Iād like to invite both companies to pour their advertising money into this website, in what might be a critical moment in the streaming warsā¦
