Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom is heading to Sky Cinema in 2026. More on the woolly sequel within.
If you’re like me, you keep thinking about Mossy Bottom.
Get your mind out of the gutter: we’re talking about the farm where Shaun The Sheep resides! We yearn to go back and visit our ovine friend. It’s been six years since we last saw Shaun and his friends in a feature, but Sky and Aardman Studios have announced today that a new film is in the works.
Titled Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom, the film will be heading into cinemas and Sky Cinema in 2026. StudioCanal is looking after the film outside the UK. Steve Cox and Matthew Walker are directing the third film in the franchise and the script is by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow.
Here’s what the press release says about the new film’s plot:
Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween – until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns MAD SCIENTIST to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.
It sounds like Shaun is in for quite the adventure in October 2026 and we’re certainly looking forward to it. After all, 2025 marks a whole 30 years since the character first appeared in Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave.

Expect smashed pumpkins, wayward science, and a wild hairy beast on the loose in Mossy Bottom – all delivered with the Flock’s trademark joyous comedy.”
Andrew Orr, Executive Producer and Head of Originals for Sky Cinema, says audiences should expect “laughs, spookiness and some brilliantly entertaining new characters.”
