Cracking news: Wallace & Gromit are returning to UK cinemas with a release of Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit.
The triumphant return of Wallace & Gromit to screens at the end of last year culminated in the sublime Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, comfortably one of the best films of 2024. Directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, and produced by the wonderful team at Aardman, I can’t be alone in having already watched it multiple times. I intend to watch it many times more.
The film only got a brief cinema release in the UK before heading to BBC One and BBC iPlayer, but two decades ago, the terrific Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit got a full big screen outing. And, this April, it’s getting a fresh outing on the big screen to mark its birthday.
The folks at Park Circus will be re-releasing Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit in UK cinemas on 18th April 2025. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a particularly wide release, with the listing at the moment suggesting just north of 25 cinemas around the country. But it’s worth having a word with your local to see if they’ll show it, as new DCPs are likely doing the rounds as part of the re-release. As it stands, it’s likely to be playing in bigger towns and cities.
Itās such a cinematic film though, and as better people than me have pointed out, beautifully shot. Hopefully, lots of opportunities present themselves to see it on a huge screen.
We’ll leave you with the trailer, and the synopsis. Like you need either.
