Rosario Dawson will return as Ahsoka Taso in the recently announced Ahsoka season 2, now in production.

It’s an excellent time to be a Star Wars fan. Not only is Andor – perhaps one of the best Star Wars productions in recent years – back for its final season, but Ahsoka is also returning for season 2.

The show’s star Rosario Dawson shared an image on Instagram confirming she was returning to a galaxy far, far away. Or, to be specific, “galaxies”. Season 2 of Ahsoka might officially be in production, but there is no word on when it might reach our screens.

Ahsoka season 2 was announced earlier this year when Lucasfilm confirmed creator Dave Filoni was developing another season of the show. At Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, it was confirmed that Hayden Christensen would return as Anakin Skywalker, who is the titular Jedi’s master. It was also confirmed that Rory McCann would appear as Baylan Skol after the death of Ray Stevenson.

Filoni also teased that Admiral Ackbar would appear in season 2 – though according to Filoni, he won’t encounter any traps.

“It took all of my effort to resist writing the line — ‘It’s a trap!’ Because I’m like, I can’t do that, that would be so lame. Because this guy can’t always get into traps. You’d think he would see it this time,” Filoni said during the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration, as noted by Deadline.

This writer was a little critical of Ahsoka season 1, especially that finale, but Ahsoka is certainly a character I’d love to see back on the small screen. Star Wars is seemingly heading towards a more Marvel-like approach to its cinematic universe, but only time will tell if it’s a risk that pays off.
