Grown-up Star Wars is almost back! Hereās the trailer for Star Wars: Andor season 2, ahead of its return to out screens next month.
Andor's first season is one of the most impressive Star Wars shows we’ve enjoyed on Disney+, and has certainly raised the bar for the Lucasverse on the small screen. Disney and Lucasfilm always planned Andor to be made up of two seasons, and since the first batch of episodes concluded in November 2022, fans have been patiently waiting for the return of Diego Lunaās perfectly formed frown (as you can see in the trailer thumbnail below).
Now we have a full new trailer for the show, which will return to our screens on Disney+ on 22nd April in the US. The UK will get it on 23rd April, thanks to time differences.
Brace yourselves for a lot of story continuity: the new seasonās 12 episodes will be broken into four chapters, with each three-episode chunk covering the events of a single year. All of which will lead us from the end of Andor's first season to the beginning of Rogue One.
Some of the best characters from this era of Star Wars are returning too: we get to enjoy Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma along with Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona. Joining them will be Alan Tudyk, reprising his role as the voice of K2-SO, and Ben Mendelsohn, who will appear again as Imperial Director Krennic.
It looks like weāre getting one chapter (again, comprising three episodes) each week for four weeks. Whose idea this is, we donāt know, but it could mark a clever release strategy for Star Wars moving forwards if it works. It will essentially give audiences a feature-length movie each week, making things feel a bit less āTVā.
Hereās that trailer below ahead of the showās release on April 23rd.
