Sony has another Marvel-related movie in the works.
Sony continues to develop its line of Spider-Man spin-off movies, with Morbius heading into cinemas this summer, and a sequel to Venom currently filming, with Andy Serkis directing.
The latest news is that the studio has now hired writer Roberto Orci to pen another of its Marvel projects, that will zero in on a Spider-Man-related character to whom Sony has the rights. Which character that is? Good question, and one to which the answer isn’t really known yet.
What is known is that Orci already has experience writing a Spider-Man movie. He was one of the writers of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and before that had penned films such as Star Trek Into Darkness, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and Mission: Impossible III. At one stage he was set to direct the movie that became Star Trek Beyond, too.
Notably, he was one of the creators of the much-loved TV show, Fringe.
Expect further details on the new film in due course. We’ll, of course, keep you posted.
