The Boys is returning for season 4 this summer and we can expect things to get extra bloody this season. More on the new season below.

The Boys, Prime Video’s hit superhero TV show is returning for a new season this summer. Prime Video recently released a poster which came bearing 13th June release date.
The Boys is one of Prime Video’s biggest titles. Eric Kripke’s alternative take on superheroes has been widely popular and a Spanish-language spin-off is currently in the works while Gen V, another spin-off, was hugely popular with fans and critics alike.
At the end of season 3, Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher was delivered devastating news that he was dying after ingesting some temporary Compound V, which gave him superpowers. Maeve has also lost her powers after defeating (at least temporarily) Soldier Boy in the season 3 finale and Homelander is enjoying his newfound fame and glory as a beloved murderer.
Season 1 of Gen V also gave us a little more insight into the character of Victoria Neuman, who was revealed as the Supe responsible for all the exploding heads in The Boys season 3. In Gen V., it was revealed that Neuman had the same power as Gen V’s Marie Moreau (played by Jaz Sinclair), which is to control blood, including making it explode out of one’s body. Neat!
Joining the extensive cast of The Boys in season 4 are Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Morgan is the latest notable Supernatural alumnus to join the series, following Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver who played Dean Winchester and Bobby in the long-running show.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Boys season 4: “In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”
As someone who has only very recently got into The Boys, I’m telling you, it’s well worth your time as is Gen V. This is an excellent time to binge both shows in preparation for The Boys season 4 in June. Gen V. was also renewed for a second season, but no word on when we might see that.
The Boys season 4 will debut three episodes on 13th June and continue weekly episodes until concluding with episode 8 on 18th July.
