Dan Harmon confirms that there’s a bit of life in the idea of a Community movie still, as he gives a brief update on the project. During the run of the much-loved comedy show Community, the running joke was that it’d get six seasons and a movie. The six seasons just about happened, but since the show went off the air over half a decade ago, there’s been precious little sign of the film happening. But in recent times, things are changing. One of the cast, Alison Brie, dropped the news that there were conversations about a possible film. Now, the creator of Community, Dan Harmon, has gone one stage further and confirmed that there’s progress. “Conversations and agreements are happening”, he told The Wrap. “There’s a story – who knows if we’ll end up sticking to it, but it was something we had to compile in order to take it out and court various venues. And now negotiations happen.” That’s still some distance from a definite yes, but there’s clearly a better chance of the film than we’ve seen for a while. The chances are that Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong, Donald Glover and Joel McHale could be persuaded to return. Don’t necessary expect Chevy Chase to be on the guest list. More on this one as we hear it.
