Based on his own film of the same name, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen follows the gangsters of East London. Take a look at the full trailer.

Update: Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Netflix series The Gentlemen, which stars Theo James as a young man who discovers he’s inherited his late father’s massive cannabis empire, has a new trailer out.

This trailer can be found below these words, while the series itself will stream on Netflix from the 7th March 2024.

Our original story follows…

Original story 15th January 2024: Guy Ritchie is a busy man. The Snatch director released two films last year and has another one scheduled for release in 2024, not to mention the untitled action film and Fountain Of Youth he’s currently working on.

Ritchie is also expanding into the smaller screen. The director has been working with Netflix on a spin-off series of his film The Gentlemen and we have a teaser trailer to prove it.

Take a look at the first The Gentlemen trailer below.

The series is “set in the world of The Gentlemen film, but not starring the original characters”, according to Netflix. The original film starred Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, Charlie Hunnam and Hugh Grant among others.

The trailer for the new series mostly focuses on Theo James’ character Eddie, who inherits the lavish country estate we see in the trailer. Ray Winstone also stars in the series as Bobby Glass, an East End criminal.

The large ensemble cast also includes Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Max Beesley, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Dar Salim, Pearce Quigley, Ruby Sear and Peter Serafinowicz.

Here’s the official synopsis for the series: “The Gentlemen sees Eddie Horniman (Theo James) unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizeable country estate – only to discover it’s part of a cannabis empire. Moreover, a host of unsavoury characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation. Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game. However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it.”

There’s no proper release date yet, but we do know The Gentlemen is debuting in March, and will consist of eight episodes in total. Matthew Read has co-written the series with Ritchie, who also acts as creator and executive producer. Ritchie also directs the first two episodes, so expect a lot of violence and snappy dialogue.
