Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather is 50 years old in 2022 – and the entire trilogy is set for UK cinemas to celebrate.

With the caveat that everything seems tentative just at the moment, here’s something to look forward to in the new year. The original The Godfather movie celebrates its 50th birthday in 2022, and we already knew that a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release for it was in the offing. But it now looks as though the entire The Godfather trilogy is returning to cinemas early in the new year as well.

The first movie is set to land again in UK cinema on Friday 25th February, with The Godfather Part II following on Friday 4th March. Then, we get the newly recut version of the third movie – now entitled Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death Of Michael Corleone – on Friday 11th March.

Expect noise to be made about the releases closer to the date, and for celebrations about the 50th birthday of The Godfather to be forthcoming in due course.
