The Lost King heads to premium video on demand, ahead of its DVD and Blu-ray release in December: more details here.

After causing a minor kerfuffle on its release, The Lost King has pretty much now completed its theatrical run and it’s on its way to home services.

The film, starring Sally Hawkins and Steve Coogan – with Coogan and Jeff Pope writing the script – is directed by Stephen Frears, and got solid reviews when it landed. That said, you may remember that Leicester University wasn’t best chuffed with the film when it arrived. It’s now issues a statement entitled ‘setting the record straight’ that you can read here.

Back to the film, though. The Lost King is arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on December 12th, but ahead of that, it’s landing on video on demand services from November 7th.

You can find the listing for it here.

The disc release comes with a handful of extras, namely…

  • The True Story Featurette
  • The Real Kingfinder Featurette
  • Feature Audio Description

Not quite sure ‘audio description’ should be listed as a special feature, but it’s there, so let’s move on.

The film will be available from Monday digitally then, initially at premium prices.
