An Arnold Schwarzenegger-headlined 1980s favourite – The Running Man – is heading to UHD 4K disc in the UK – more here.
A notable step on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s path to becoming the biggest movie star in the world, The Running Man is – very loosely – based on a Stephen King story (albeit writing as Richard Bachman). It’s also a bit ahead of the game where reality TV is concerned, with Arnie playing a man falsely convicted (obviously) of a crime, and having to survive a deadly TV show as his punishment.
Directed by Paul Michael Glaser, the movie had a fair amount of behind the scenes drama, but the on-screen stuff has now been given a 4K makeover. Furthermore, Paramount will be releasing The Running Man on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc this November.
It’s arriving in a 35th anniversary Steelbook set, and will be going on sale from November 7th 2022.
No word on extra features as of yet, but for the minute, you can find out more and order a copy here.
