New Line Cinema’s latest entry in The Conjuring's ongoing series of stories is The Nun 2: trailer here. New entries in The Conjuring series just keep arriving. Series creator, James Wan has hinted that the next entry in the mainline series, The Conjuring: Last Rites may well be the ending to the franchise. Of course, given that The Conjuring series is the highest-grossing horror franchise in history with over $2 billion in box-office worldwide, New Line Cinema may be holding out hope it can persuade Wan to see things a little differently. Either way, ahead of Last Rites, the series will be receiving another entry later this year in the form of The Nun 2, a follow-up to the commercially successful 2018 spin-off film. The Nun earned $365m from a $22m production budget so it’s easy to see why New Line was keen for the series to return with another instalment. James Wan is producing and Michael Chaves, (helmer of 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) is directing. Here’s the brief synopsis: In 1956 France, a priest is murdered and evil is spreading. Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) once again comes face-to-face with Valak (Bonnie Aarons), the demon nun. The film is due to release on the 8th September 2023. You can catch the trailer below.
