Babylon 5: The Road Home is an animated continuation of the television series, and a trailer has been released.

Babylon 5 is one of the biggest cult sci-fi series in history. Running for 110 episodes with various television films and spin-offs, the show is notable for creator J. Michael Straczynski’s approach to long form storytelling and story arcs.

While a film and television reboot have Bern in various stages of development for quite some time,  Straczynski announced in May that he had been working with Warner Bros. Animation to produce a feature length film called Babylon 5: The Road Home.

The synopsis reads as follows:

John Sheridan (voiced by Bruce Boxleitner) travels across the galaxy as he unexpectedly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in a quest to find his way back home. Along the way, he reunites with some familiar faces, while discovering cosmic new revelations about the history, purpose, and meaning of the Universe.

Boxleitner is joined by fellow returning cast members Claudia Christian as Susan Ivanova, Peter Jurasik as Londo Mollari, Bill Mumy as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins as Elizabeth Lochley, and Patricia Tallman as Lyta Alexander.

Matt Peters directed the film from a story and screenplay by Straczynski.

Babylon 5: The Road Home will be released on home media and streaming platforms on the 15th August. You can order a copy here.
