Origin, a biopic based on the life and work of Pultizer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson, has a new trailer as it premieres at Venice Film Festival.
Ava DuVernay has written, produced and directed the film, that premiered at the Venice Film Festival yesterday. It’s received a lot of attention, with a first trailer being released and Neon acquiring the worldwide distribution rights.
According to Deadline, the company is planning to release Origin before the end of the year.
Isabel Wilkerson is an American journalist who has penned multiple books. DuVernay’s film will follow her life up to and including the release of her 2020 novel Caste: The Origin Of Our Discontents.
There are some big names among Origin's cast, including Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. Also starring are Jon Bernthal, Niecy Nash-Betts, Vera Famiga, Nick Offerman and Audra McDonald.
