Lady Chatterley’s Lover is back on the big screen with Emma Corrin leading the cast – and here’s the trailer for the film.

Controversy seems to follow Lady Chatterley’s Lover wherever it goes. Causing outrage upon release, D.H Lawrence’s novel was denigrated for featuring explicit sexual scenes and language, with publisher Penguin even facing an obscenity trial in Britain in 1960.

Perhaps because of this controversy, the novel has been adapted countless times, most recently by Line of Duty writer Jed Mercurio for the BBC in 2015.

Now, a new version is on the way, and it’s a feature film with serious Netflix money behind it. The plot synopsis this time – of course – reads as follows:

Connie, born into wealth & privilege, finds herself married to a man she no longer loves. When she meets Oliver, the estate’s gamekeeper, their secret trysts lead her to a sexual awakening. She faces a decision: follow her heart or return to her husband and endure what society expects of her.

Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell headline the film, alongside Joely Richardson, Faye Marsay and Ella Hunt.

Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre directs from a screenplay by David Magee, whose last film, Paul Feig’s The School For Good and Evil, was recently released on Netflix.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover will be released on the 2nd December on Netflix. Watch the trailer below:
