Luc Besson is back in the director’s chair with Dogman, and here’s the trailer for his latest film.

Luc Besson came to prominence with films like The Big Blue and La Femme Nikita, breaking into the mainstream with Leon: The Professional and The Fifth Element. He also found huge success purely as a screenwriter and producer, creating and co-writing the Transporter and Taken franchises.

He’s now back in the director’s chair with Dogman. The synopsis reads as follows:

Caleb Landry Jones stars as Douglas, a man who was abused as a child by his violent father and viciously thrown to dogs. Instead of attacking him, all the dogs came to protect him and became his allies. On a journey to heal from childhood trauma and physical injury, Douglas seeks to find his own path, even if it means bending societal rules, gender and going overboard with his love of dogs.

The cast also includes Christopher Denham, Marisa Berenson, Michael Garza, and Jojo T. Gibbs.

Besson writes and directs.

Dogman is expected to premiere at film festivals later this year, a release date is yet to be confirmed, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
