Pedro Almodovar’s next film is a short romantic Western entitled Strange Way Of Life, and here’s the trailer for it.

Pedro Almodovar has an impressive filmography behind him, from his breakthrough film Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown to more recent successes like Volver, his highest grossing film worldwide to date.

His next film is a half hour short entitled Strange Way Of Life, his second to be written and shot in English following 2020’s The Human Voice.

The synopsis reads as follows:

A man rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake. 25 years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva, the rancher who rides out to meet him, worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting, but the next morning Sheriff Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship…

Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal headline the film,, alongside Jason Fernández, José Condessa, Pedro Casablanc, Daniel Rived and Erenice Lohan.

Almodovar wrote and directed the new movie.

Strange Way Of Life will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Pathe will debut the film in the UK later this year.
