Russell Crowe and Zac Efron star in this upcoming buddy comedy from Peter Farrelly, The Greatest Beer Run Ever: here’s the trailer.
Apple and Skydance announced the latest film in their continuing partnership yesterday, a Mark Wahlberg action-comedy titled The Family Plan. The two companies have a few co-productions coming up, including snagging Peter Farrelly to return to the buddy road movie genre which snagged the director a Best Picture Oscar for 2018’s Green Book. His next film, the grandly-titled The Greatest Beer Run Ever will star Zac Efron and Russell Crowe and the film was shot in Thailand.
Originally, Green Book star Viggo Mortensen was set to headline this one, alongside Dylan O’Brien, before Efron and Crowe were offered the leads. The film tells the story of ‘John “Chickie” Donahue as he leaves New York in 1967 to track down and share a beer with his childhood buddies who are in the army fighting in the Vietnam War.’
Bill Murray is also set to pop up in this one, which is due to arrive on Apple’s streaming platform and in cinemas on September 30th. Until then, you can enjoy the trailer below.
