Your living room is about to get windy: Twisters is coming to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this October. More here.

One of the better films in this year’s crop of summer blockbuster movies has proven to be the belated sequel Twisters. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung – who spoke to us about it here – and starring Daisy Edgar Jones, Anthony Ramos and Glen Powell, the movie was a big hit in the US, less so outside of America.

Still, little doubt that Twisters is going to offer a healthy outing for any half decent home cinema system, and the chance to put the wind up your equipment (so to speak) arrives in October.

Twisters is getting a full physical media release, with DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray options heading our way. All three of those are available from 14th October 2024 in the UK. You can find out more about the discs and order yourself copies right here.

What we don’t have as of yet are details of any additional features on the discs, but will keep you posted on that. Preorders are up now though, and for the moment, here’s the synopsis for the movie…

Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.

There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
