Having once upon a time being set to star, Mark Wahlberg is heading to the mentor role in the upcoming Uncharted film.
Had plans fallen into place a few years earlier, Mark Wahlberg was firmly in line to take on the role of Nathan Drake in the big screen adaptation of the Uncharted videogames. Once upon a time he was the top choice for the lead role, back at a point where David O Russell was supposed to be directing it.
But the film has bounced around in development for a lot of years now, and it’s only recently it’s come back together. Now, Tom Holland has been cast as Nathan Drake, with Travis Knight (who directed Bumblebee) in the director’s chair. And Wahlberg has finally joined the project too.
He’ll be in the role of Drake’s mentor now, Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, and he’s now in final talks for the movie. Wahlberg was apparently keen to return to the project, having been so close to it before.
Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins have penned the script for the film. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more about it.
