Warner Bros reveals release windows for some of its most hotly-anticipated TV shows, albeit leaving details to be filled in.
Warner Bros has several sizeable TV shows on its slate for 2025, and it’s started to offer hints as to just when we’re going to get them
First up, we now know that series three of Mike White’s fabulous jet-set, hotel-based masterpiece The White Lotus will be coming in February. This time we’re headed to the Paris resort of the titular high-end establishment with a cast that includes Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs , Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong. The only returning cast member confirmed so far is Natasha Rothwell, who reprises her role as spa manager Belind.
Next up, The Last Of Us. The second series of the critically-acclaimed HBO adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game series has a release window is officially set for a spring 2025 launch with March or early April continuing to look like a solid bet given that it will need to release then to qualify for Emmy contention before the window closes in late May.
Now the not-so good news.
Along with these dates, Variety is reporting that the next Game Of Thrones spin-off, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms is likely getting pushed from its planned summer release until later into 2026. Hopes are high that this take on Westeros is going to be a bit more fun and less staid than House Of The Dragon, but it looks like we are going to have to wait a bit longer to find out. The third season of Euphoria is still said to be on track for a 2026 release too.
And finally, the Harry Potter TV series that was being planned for a 2026 release has now been pushed back to 2027. Online speculation that Cillian Murphy may be playing He Who Shall Not be Named have even prompted the former holder of that title, Ralph Fiennes to give his blessing for that potential piece of casting. “Cillian is a fantastic actor. I actually think that’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favor of Cillian. Yeah,” said Fiennes recently whilst appearing on Bravos’ Watch What Happens Live.
So there you go. Hopefully, February will kick off a year of excellent prestige TV courtesy of Warner Bros and Mike White’s The White Lotus. We’ll bring you more updates on these shows as we hear more.
