The early life of original AC/DC front man Bon Scott will be dramatised in the film, The Kid From Harvest Road. Here are the details:
Musical biopics have had a successful resurgence in recent years, with films like Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, Bob Marley: One Love and the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black.
The life of AC/DC frontman Bon Scott will be dramatised in The Kid From Harvest Road. The film is currently in development in Western Australia and production is expected to commence in early 2025.
Bon Scott was AC/DC’s second vocalist, hired after the firing of original singer Dave Evans. Scott sang on their first seven albums, which spawned hits like It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll), High Voltage and Highway To Hell. Scott passed away in 1980, Brian Johnson, formerly singer of the band Geordie, became the new singer in AD/DC.
David Vincent Smith will direct the film and co-write the screenplay with Stephen Belowsky. Fremantle-born actor Lee Tiger Halley, who stars as Gus Bell in Netflix’s Boy Swallows Universe, will play Scott, further casting has not been confirmed.
