Emma Seligman’s Bottoms, the raunchy high school fight club comedy wowing critics and audiences across the pond, has finally secured a UK release date. More below…

Bottoms might just be the film with the best two elevator pitches in 2023. The synopsis, according to our friend Wikipedia (it’s right good, you should check it out) “follows two high school senior girls (Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri) who set up a fight club as a way to hook up with cheerleaders.”

If that wasn’t enough to peak your interest, check out the poster: “From the producer of Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear”. Even without the ecstatic reactions following Bottoms since its Stateside release, it’s safe to say we’d be pretty hyped for this one.

Alas, Bottoms has been a film in search of a UK release date for quite a while (it premiered at South by Southwest in March, with a US release on 25 August). Well, good news, Bottom-fans (careful); according to Warner Bros. UK’s Twitter (yes, we’re still calling it that), the high school comedy is coming to Blighty’s shores on 3 November. That’s just 24 days away, number-philes!

Bottoms stars, and is co-written by, Rachel Sennott, who wowed us in her last collaboration with Seligman, 2020’s very stressful Shiva Baby, alongside Ayo Edebiri, who stars in the much less stressful (but similarly excellent) Theater Camp.

Speaking about her next project while promoting Shiva Baby, Seligman described the film as a “campy queer high school comedy in the vein of Wet Hot American Summer but more for a Gen-Z queer audience.” Consider us on board!
