Daniel Radcliffe and Lucas Hedges will headline Vietnam war film Trust The Man ā€“ more on the new movie right here.

I’m not entirely sure that Daniel Radcliffe gets quite the level of credit he deserves for the sheer boldness of his post-Harry Potter career choices. Not every film has worked, but he’s sought out some offbeat material, taken a chance on directors, and put together a body of work that suggests his box office days are behind him, but his best film isn’t. Radcliffe, remember, teamed up with director duo the Daniels on feature debut Swiss Army Man (the farting corpse movie). Next movie down, the Daniels were picking up Best Picture at the Oscars for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Back to Daniel Radcliffe, though.

Next up, he’s tackling a Vietnam war movie, opposite Lucas Hedges. The pair of them are set to star in Trust The Man, that’s being set up at Neon, and heading to the European Film Market.

Trust The Man is written by Will Graham, and he’s also going to direct the film too. Plot-wise, the movie is following an army intelligence officer, whose attention is drawn to a soldier with no shortage of medals. But is said soldier all that he appears? It wouldn’t be much of a movie if he was entirely on the level, but I’ve not the read the script, so can’t spoil a thing for you. Wouldn’t do that anyway.

No word yet on when the movie heads for production, but if it’s heading to the European Film Market, then it’s likely advanced enough to suggest that it should be going before the cameras this year. That, in turn, would point to a possible release in 2026.

More news as we hear it. We should have a clearer idea who the UK distributor is going to be in a month or two as well. Updates as we get them.
