Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill are back as the Thirteenth Doctor and Yasmin Khan for a series of Doctor Who audio advenures for Big Finish.

Big Finish has been recording new stories with various incarnations of The Doctor since 1999 ā€“ in fact, to celebrate the companyā€™s 25th anniversary, Big Finish is releasing a special edition of its first ever story, Sirens Of Time. There was also huge excitement in 2020 when the notoriously reticent Christopher Eccleston reprised his role as the Ninth Doctor on audio.

Jodie Whittaker has spoken at length in interviews about how much she loved her time on the show and how she would jump at the chance to go back.

Big Finish has confirmed that, in partnership with BBC Studios, Whittaker and Mandip Gill ā€“ who played her companion Yasmin Khan ā€“ will reprise their roles for a series of 12 hour-long audio adventures, the first of which will be released in July 2025.

Whittaker said, ā€œI’m over the moon to be joining Big Finish for more adventures in the TARDIS. Recording the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz is a really lovely thing to revisit. One of the things Mandip and I used to love on Doctor Who was getting in, doing a new episode and meeting a brand-new cast. I just can’t wait to step back into the boots, pull on the coat and get cracking. One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be brilliantā€.

Gill added, ā€œDoctor Who has been a huge part of my career and personal life and I am looking forward to seeing how I can further enrich my character through this exhilarating series. To be able to work with Jodie again is a dream come true, we have such a special friendship, I’m sure the recordings will be filled with laughterā€.

Details about the individual stories, and whether other cast members from Whittakerā€™s era like Sacha Dhawan as the Master, John Bishop as Dan or Jo Martin as The Fugitive Doctor, might appear have not been confirmed. Martin and Dhawan will each star in their own box sets in 2025. It was recently confimed that Martin will appear in Once And Future: Coda, which will be released in November.
