Vertigo inducing thriller Fall is getting a sequel, thanks to the success of the original movie on Netflix.

Much like Buried and Open Water, last year’s Fall took a simple concept to terrifying extremes – what if you were stuck on a platform thousands of feet in the air with no way down?

Though taking a tidy sum at the box office, grossing $21 million against a budget of $3 million, it is on Netflix where the film really found its audience, making its way into the top ten ranking in four territories.

Director Scott Mann and Tea Shop Productions are in discussions about a sequel. Quite what form that would take is unclear, other than the fact that it will be another story set at an immense height.

Producer James Harris said that they “don’t want to make something that feels like a copycat or less than the first one”.
