On sale now: Film Stories issue 52, with Ridley Scott, low budget filmmaking, the state of UK horror, and a whole lot more!

We’ve made another print film magazine! It’s issue 52 of Film Stories, the UK’s biggest film magazine. Once again, the new issue is 168 pages, on really nice paper too.

This time, we lead on a long chat with Ridley Scott. While it’s in and around Gladiator II, we took the conversation off in a lot of different places, and hopefully that comes across.

We’re also deep-rooted in British independent film again, with a huge look at the UK horror scene, at the funding challenges, and new interviews and insights into what’s happening. Then, The Secret Movie Publicist returns, and tries not to get us sued. Fun times.

There’s a lot of stuff in each issue. We’re harking back to the massive film magazines of the 1990s and 2000s. It’s independent, it’s doing something we think others aren’t.

We hope you’re going to like the magazine, and we hope you might consider supporting it. Sold primarily via mail order, and popping up in a few WHSmiths stores around the country too, here’s the cover of the new issue…

Here’s a bigger taste of what’s inside…

RIDLEY SCOTT: huge, huge exclusive chat with him about his work, his upcoming films, Gladiator II, and a lot, lot more.

Plus: we’ve dedicated a chunk of the issue (nearly 20 pages!) to the challenges of low budget filmmaking. A huge look at how the horror scene is battling away in the UK, even when funding bodies aren’t necessarily interested. A long interview with a director in the middle of the system. Plus, the tricks to low budget filmmaking.

The Secret Movie Publicist, meanwhile, tries to get us sued.
