The videogame-to-movie hit Five Nights At Freddy’s is arriving on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, with extra features too.
A film a long, long time in gestation, last autumn we finally got to see the movie of videogame hit Five Nights At Freddy’s. And whilst it’d be fair to say the reviews were not on the kind side, the commercial performance of the movie is absolutely not to be sniffed at.
Costing around $20m to make, the film grossed just shy of $300m worldwide. An even more impressive number when you consider that it was available on streaming in the US on the day of its cinema release.
Inevitably, a sequel is going to come along a whole lot quicker than the eight years it took to make the first film. But before that, there’s the small matter of the movie’s home release. It’s been confirmed that Five Nights At Freddy’s is going to be very well represented on physical media.
Furthermore, for the collectors amongst you, there’s also a Steelbook edition that’s gone up for sale too. You can find that here. The Steelbook is lagging a couple of weeks behind, and won’t be on sale until February 19th 2024.
In terms of bonus features on the discs – and these seem to be appearing on all formats – you get a director’s commentary with Emma Tammi, a from game to screen featurette, and a focus too on killer animatronics.
The film is currently up for preorder at all the usual places. And when we hear more about Five Nights At Freddy’s 2, we’ll let you know…

In December 2018, the entertainment chain HMV went into administration for a second time, with seemingly no way forward for the business. Stock was being sold off, and there was no prospect of a [...]
A glimpse at upcoming UK Steelbook release dates until early 2024: here’s what’s getting the fancy treatment and when.
The incredibly fancy (and, truth be told, a little more expensive) Steelbook format is the only choice for those needing a physical media release that doubles as a table tennis bat in a pinch. If that's you, [...]
