Catch your second look at Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga ahead of its May 2024 release, from director George Miller. Here’s the new trailer:
Update: A new trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has landed. This is, of course, director George Miller’s prequel to the fantabulous Mad Max: Fury Road, and stars Anya Taylor Joy as the younger Furiosa, a role played in the 2015 film by Charlize Theron.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga arrives in UK cinemas on the 24th May 2024. Until then, enjoy the latest trailer, which starts with a very appetising-looking apple.
Our original story follows…
December 1st 2023: Back in 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road wowed audiences with its incredible sense of scale and ambition, pulling off the sort of practical action movie spectacle that was sorely missing from cinema in an age of ever-increasing CGI. There’s not been an action movie to come close to it since, in our humble opinion.
George Miller’s follow-up, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, has taken a long time to arrive, but finally the film has roared onto the horizon, with its mammoth production easily becoming Australia’s biggest ever movie shoot.
The first trailer has arrived, and our first glimpse of the film teases just the right amount of madcap action.
As for the prequel’s story, here’s the synopsis:
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
Anya Taylor-Joy will play the young version of Furiosa, the character memorably portrayed by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. The trailer also shows some of Chris Hemsworth as the lead antagonist, Dementus.
Directed by George Miller, who has co-written the script alongside Nick Lathouris, the film has a release date scheduled for May 24th 2024. Until then, catch your first look at the film in the trailer below.
It would be fair to say that this is one of the big films we’re off the chart excited for in 2024, and given how long it’s taken Miller and his team to make it, we’re expecting fireworks, and lots of them. Hopefully, another outstanding score for the movie as well.
