The film based on the Gran Turismo videogame series is coming to disc in the UK next month – with some extra features too.
A late summer release on the big screen, and doing some passable business at the box office, was Sony’s Gran Turismo movie. A film that came together relentlessly quickly in the end, under the eye of director Neill Blomkamp, there was some pushback that it was a glorified advert for a PlayStation game (and certainly it helped boost sales of said games), we really rather liked the film (declaring it Blomkamp’s raciest film to date, a headline we just about got away with in our review). We don’t think we’re alone there, either.
Anyway: the home release of the movie is incoming, and it’s coming to physical media, too. Sony will be releasing the film in the UK on three different formats: 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray (and that should offer quite the home cinema workout), Blu-ray and DVD.
The UK release date for the disc is November 13th 2023. Expect the movie to pop up on video on demand ahead of that.
For those who favour physical media though – that’d be us – there are some extra features to try and part you from your money. It’s unclear at the moment whether these will be on the DVD version, but on the Blu-ray and 4K discs, you can expect the following…
The Plan: The True Story of Jann Mardenborough
The Wheels: The Fast-Acting Cast
The Engine: Driving the Visuals
The Pit Crew: The Action and Stunts
The Garage: The Amazing Automobiles
Deleted Scenes
Gran Turismo is available for preorder now. You can find out more information on the release, and order a copy, right here. Vroom!
