The acclaimed 15-part television series The Story Of Film is finally getting a Blu-ray release.

Comfortably one of the most acclaimed television series about the history of cinema in recent times, The Story Of Film: An Odyssey debuted in 2011. Written, directed and narrated by Mark Cousins, it was split over 15 hour-long episodes, and really is a superb piece of work.

The programme, which took some five years to come together, originally received a DVD release and has been available on streaming too. But for the first time, it’s been revealed it’s getting a Blu-ray release.

All 15 episodes will be bundled into the five disc set that Network will release on the Blu-ray format from 26th July. Don’t expect new extras, but given just how much material on the movies you’ve getting anyway, that shouldn’t be a problem!
