The directorial debut of Molly Manning Walker, How To Have Sex is coming to cinemas on 3rd November courtesy of MUBI.

Molly Manning Walker’s previous work includes shooting Charlotte Regan’s Scrapper, a much-praised British drama starring Lola Campbell and Harris Dickinson. Now, she has written and directed How To Have Sex.

Starring Kindling and Persuasion's Mia McKenna-Bruce, the film is a tale of the complexities of female friendship. It premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and received the Un Certain Regard prize. How To Have Sex has now been picked up by distributor and streamer MUBI, which is giving it a theatrical release date of 3rd November.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

‘Three British teenage girls go on a rites-of-passage holiday, drinking, clubbing and hooking up in what should be the best summer of their lives. As they dance their way across the sun-drenched streets of Malia, they find themselves navigating the complexities of sex, consent and self-discovery. Captured with luminous visuals and a pitch-perfect soundtrack, Manning Walker’s directorial debut paints a painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood, and how first sexual experiences should – or shouldn’t – play out.’

Starring alongside McKenna-Bruce are Samuel Bottomly, Lara Peake, Ali & Ava's Shaun Thomas and newcomers Enva Lewis and Laura Ambler.
