Mutiny sees Jason Statham on a cargo ship, and in a very bad mood. Here’s the trailer for the upcoming action flick.
We’ve already had one, very welcome, Jason Statham film this year in the form of Shelter, half of which was spent on a remote island with choppy waters around him. And what’s this? He’s back by the seaside for Mutiny, which is heading to cinemas this August.
It’s from Jean-Francois Richet, the director of the joyously entertaining Plane, and The Statham stars here alongside Annabelle Wallis, Lee Charles, Jason Wong, Ben Cartwright, Arnas Fedaravicius and Adrian Lester.
Adding to his collection of moderately-named screen men, The Statham is Cole Reed, someone who can rearrange his names on a form and leave people unsure whether he’s written his surname out first. It’s a revenge action thriller, where he heads off to a cargo ship to wreak revenge, and things escalate from there. Splendid.
Linday Michel and J P Davis have penned the screenplay, with Lionsgate putting the movie out in the States, and Sky Cinema releasing it over here.

Not far behind this, incidentally, is The Beekeeper 2, which is expected to land early in 2027. If it does so, that’s three Jason Statham action films in 12 months, and with Layer Cake sequel Viva La Madness just about wrapping up production too.
