Zack Snyder’s ultimate cut of Rebel Moon will stream on Netflix this August, and we have a very spicy trailer to prove it.
In June, we got word that the long-promised director’s cuts of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon films would be available on Netflix this August. The cast already teased the cuts to Film Stories in December 2023, but the first trailer for Snyder’s space epic promises a lot of blood – and some hanky-panky for good measure.
Take a look at the new Rebel Moon – The Director’s Cut trailer below.
Well, that’s definitely a trailer for a Zack Snyder film if I’ve ever seen one. It looks like the new edit just dials Snyder’s signature style up to eleven, which fans will certainly enjoy. Interestingly, fewer people watched The Scargiver than A Child Of Fire, so it remains to be seen how many people will hit play on the director’s cuts.
By now, you probably already know what the Rebel Moon films are all about, but here’s what Netflix has to say about the upcoming director’s cuts:
Delve further into the mythology and madness of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga in the viciously sexier, bloodier world of Rebel Moon – Chapter One: Chalice Of Blood and Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse Of Forgiveness. In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Motherworld, Kora assembles a small band of warriors – outsiders, insurgents, peasants, and orphans of war who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.
The two films, previously subtitled A Child Of Fire and The Scargiver, will now go as Chalice Of Blood and Curse Of Forgiveness. The new, extended versions will still tell the same story, but with lots more action and extra scenes. Snyder has previously teased that each film will be about an hour longer than its counterpart, and the new cuts will have a nearly six hour runtime combined.
You can stream both parts on Netflix from 2nd August.
