Red, White & Royal Blue’s Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as He-Man in the upcoming Masters Of The Universe adaptation.
It’s only Wednesday and this week has already been filled with exciting casting news. After learning the title of the new Knives Out film, the word on the street was that Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny were joining the cast of the upcoming Netflix film.
Well, here’s another corker of a piece of casting news. Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as He-Man in Amazon MGM and Mattel’s upcoming Masters Of The Universe film, as reported by Deadline. Travis Knight was confirmed to be in the director’s chair earlier in May and you can expect the film to land in 2026.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The story introduces a ten-year-old Prince Adam, who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword – the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!’
Galitzine is Hollywood’s most recent obsession. The actor has appeared in films such as Bottoms, Red, White & Royal Blue, Sky’s Mary & George and most recently in The Idea Of You, Prime Video’s steamy rom-com with Anne Hathaway.
“We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man,” Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, said. “Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”
The film is planned for a full theatrical release rather than a Prime Video debut, but no set release date has been announced yet. More on Masters Of The Universe as we hear it.
