Wilson will star in the high-concept family action movie Secret HQ, coming from Paramount and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

It feels like a little while since we’ve seen Owen Wilson on a cinema screen. His latest film, Bliss, ended up going straight to Amazon Prime, and he’ll next be seen in Marvel’s upcoming Loki show, another small screen outing (although yes, we do accept that there is nothing ‘small screen’ about the ambitions of those Marvel shows). All in all, Wilson hasn’t graced a cinema screen since 2017’s Father Figures which, well, seems like quite a long time ago at this point.

All that is set to change soon though. Wilson is set to appear in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch this year, as well as opposite Jennifer Lopez in Marry Me in 2022. He has also now signed on to star in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Secret Headquarters, a planned family action movie about a group of kids that discover, and have to defend, a superhero’s base.

The Project Power directing duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are helming the film with. Bruckheimer set to produce. Joost Schulman and Josh Koenigsberg are writing the current draft based on an an original screenplay from The Mandalorian's writer Christopher Yost.

We’ll bring you more updates on this one as we hear it.
