Little is known about Paul Thomas Anderson’s next project which is likely to begin production in the summer of 2023.
Paul Thomas Anderson is gearing up for his next shoot it’s been revealed, and although details are pretty scarce, a recent casting call has offered an inkling of information for those curious to see what the filmmaker is up to next. PTA’s follow-up to 2021’s Licorice Pizza will once again film in Los Angeles, with next summer being the targeted production date.
Whilst the plot is firmly under wraps, the casting call but out by Anderson’s long-time casting director Cassandra Kulukundis states that they are looking for ‘a 15-to-16-year-old female of mixed ethnicity’. Additionally, the casting call also states that the actress should be ‘physically athletic and excels at Martial Arts.’
As of right now, that’s all we have to go on but perhaps this might be the ‘L.A.-set 1940s jazz film’ that Anderson has spoken about making before.
As pre-production continues to ramp up, we’ll no doubt learn more but in the meantime, it’s good news to hear that at the very least, we’ll have another PTA film arriving, probably at some point in 2024.
