Come towards the light! Poltergeist is getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release this coming September in the UK.
It’s a bit of a year for film anniversaries this one, and another movie getting the birthday cake out is the original Poltergeist. The Tobe Hooper-directed horror favourite was released in 1982, so by the maths of our tried and tested calculator, we make it that the film is 40 years old. And it’s celebrating this milestone in the time honoured fashioned, by being given a 4K makeover.
Furthermore, the film is going to be arriving on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. Warner Bros is releasing the movie on September 19th in the UK, and it’s gone up for preorder. The package will arrive with a Blu-ray inside as well, to carry over extra features from previous release. And then there’s a 4K disc with the remastered film on it.
You can find the listing for the film and gleam more information on the release, here.
