Production wraps on homegrown horror feature Charlie Shaw’s Revenge, here are more details as well as the first image.

For people who are meant to bring joy and laughter, horror films have gotten a lot of mileage out of exploiting audiences’ coulrophobia – the fear of clowns. From Pennywise in Stephen King’s classic It to Art the Clown in the Terrifier franchise, with even comedian Ross Noble donning the makeup for the underrated Stitches, we now have another clown to add to the canon.

Charlie Shaw’s Revenge, the plot of which is under wraps for now, is a horror that follows the titular character and his alter ego, a clown called Otto.

James Payton, of Harry Potter and Captain America: The First Avenger fame, is taking on the title role. Other cast members include Shahla Ayamah, Mark Benton, Billy Cashin, Molly Cattanach, Bill Fellows, Justin K Hayward, Cerys Knighton, Amelie Leroy, John Locke, Keri Hinna Martin and Renato Pires.

The film is directed by John Langridge and produced by Justin Hayward for Eastbourne based production company Drop Dead Films.

Langridge and Hayward will be taking news about the production, as well as details of Drop Dead Films’ upcoming slate, to the Cannes Film Festival later this week.
