Jason Reitmanā€™s upcoming real-time film Saturday Night is set to dramatise the events leading up to SNL's first ever show. Trailer here.


Last month, we got the news that Saturday Night, the making-of story behind one of the most successful variety shows in US history, is heading for an 11th October release date in the US, and we also got an introductory trailer to go along with it.

While we still donā€™t yet now when Saturday Night will be hitting the UK, we do have a full trailer to check out ahead of the filmā€™s arrival.

Starring The Fabelmans breakout Gabriel LaBelle as the show’s famed producer, Lorne Michaels, the film reportedly revolves around the 90 minutes before the first broadcast of Michaels’ comedy darling, Saturday Night Live.

The cast for this one is something to behold. As well as the aformentioned Gabriel LaBelle, we get Dylan O’Brien as Dan Aykroyd, Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, Matt Wood as John Belushi, Ella Hunt as Gilda Radnor, Kim Matula as Jane Curtin, Cooper Hoffman as Dick Ebersol, Willem Dafoe as David Tebet, and Nicholas Braun as both Jim Henson and Andy Kaufman.

Thereā€™s also There’s also J.K. Simmons as Milton Berle, Matthew Rhys as George Carlin, Nicholas Podany as Billy Crystal, Paul Rust as Paul Shaffer, Cooper Hoffman as Dick Ebersol, Naomi McPherson as Janis Ian, Andrew Barth Feldman as Neil Levy, Kaia Gerber as Jacqueline Carlin and Finn Wolfhard too.

Thatā€™s a lot of talent, mostly playing a lot of recognisable talent and for that reason alone, Saturday Night should be an absorbing watch. Whether it works beyond being a love letter to the show, remians to be seen. When we do hear of a UK release date, weā€™ll let you know.
