Gary Oldman is back in Slow Horses series 3, and the first trailer for the new run has just been released.

Slow Horses, adapted from the novels by Mick Herron, was destined for great things from the start. Solid source material, some of Britain’s best screenwriters including Will Smith (not that one, the Will Smith from The Thick of It and Veep) and Morwenna Banks, all centered around a powerhouse performance by Gary Oldman at its centre.

The first two series received near universal critical acclaim, and now the show is back for series 3.

Adapted from Herron’s third novel Real Tigers, the plot this time sees Oldman’s Jackson Lamb dragged into a conspiracy involving a romantic liaison in Istanbul which threatens to expose a secret which endangers the future not only of Slough House, but of MI5 itself.

The cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.

New additions include Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù as Sean Donovan, the former head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul, along with Katherine Waterston who plays Alison Dunn, an MI5 agent who uncovers a dark secret at the heart of the agency.

The first two episodes will stream on Apple TV from the 29th November, new episodes will then follow weekly.
