It’s confirmed: there’s a Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse sequel on the way.
In the conversation as to what’s the best Spider-Man movie to date, the debate has narrowed down to Sam Raimi’s exceptional Spider-Man 2, and last year’s Oscar-winning animated treat, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse.
The latter film was a real surprise, too. An animated adventure for the webslinger, directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, written by Rothman and Phil Lord, and overseen by Lord and Chris Miller. Big box office and Academy Award success followed.
Now comes the perhaps inevitable news that a sequel is on the way.
The news was confirmed by Chris Miller on his Twitter account, as he confirmed that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse 2 will be arriving in cinemas on April 8th 2022. And that’s all that’s officially known as of yet. We wait and see if the voice cast and original directing trio will all return too.
More news on this one as we hear it. We’ll leave you with Mr Miller’s Tweet on the matter…
