Steven Spielberg is producing a documentary about iconic composer John Williams, and here are the first details.

E and F, when played consecutively, are two of the most iconic musical notes in film history, synonymous with the shark approaching in Jaws. John Williams composed that theme and hundreds of others, from Indiana Jones to E.T, Star Wars, Home Alone and Harry Potter.

Now, a long overdue documentary about Williams is on the way, spearheaded by Steven Spielberg for Amblin Television. The feature length film will examine Williams’ career from his very first film score – 1958 B- movie Daddy-O – through his 50 year working relationship with Spielberg right up to the present day, where he is currently scoring Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny.

Laurent Bouzereau, who made dozens of behind the scenes featurettes for Spielberg’s films, will direct.

The as yet untitled film is currently in production, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more
